Keep your browsers, software and operating system updated
Consider disabling certain browser plugins (might make internet less functional) including:
- Java
- Flash
- Javascript
Anti-virus programs
- Avira (for Mac and Windows)
- Windows has it’s own Defender
Password managers (generate strong, unique passwords)
- LastPass
- 1Password
- Or: string four random words together
Anonymous browsing,if you need it
- Tor browser
- Tails operating system (boots your computer into a safe environment, but it’s complicated to use)
Email
- Make sure to have your unique, long password
- PGP encryption
  - Both parties must be using PGP

    - For Windows
    - For Linux
Chat and messaging
- Signal provides encrypted, secure messaging
Cloud storage
- SpiderOak is the best option
