…let’s face it, the state has all the firepower, all the guns, and all it takes is an excuse and they’ll use it…

…the foundation that needs to be laid, we have to do it right now in the struggle to say ‘no!’ and send a clear message about where we should go.
I think we need to recognize that we want to get to that point where we’re really taking back…our community.
…our strategies are influenced by the [institutional] foothold we have and us wanting to hang onto that.
We’ve already been compromised and co-opted…[b]ut out of that…I think movements will continue to grow.
…all these groups…really need to have a strong sense of community and a strong sense of solidarity so that they can mobilize.
Because I do believe in leadership, I just don’t believe in the form of leadership that dictates to everybody what should happen.
